About Berwick
Berwick is an established suburb in Melbourne's south-east, roughly 45km from the CBD in the City of Casey. It's centred on a heritage village along High Street and ringed by family neighbourhoods, parks and major arterials including the Princes Freeway and Monash Freeway, putting the Melbourne CBD within a 50–65 minute drive outside peak hours and a 60–70 minute train trip on the Pakenham line via Berwick station.
The suburb is best known for its schools — Berwick Grammar, St Margaret's, Nossal High School and Federation University's Berwick campus are all located here — and for a strong supply of detached family homes on traditional blocks. The local property market is dominated by 3–4 bedroom houses, with a smaller share of townhouses near the Berwick village and around Eden Rise shopping centre.
Berwick typically attracts owner-occupier buyers upgrading from inner Casey suburbs such as Narre Warren and Cranbourne, as well as families moving from inner-eastern Melbourne for more land and school catchments. Long-term growth has been supported by steady population growth in Melbourne's south-east growth corridor, ongoing infrastructure investment (Monash Health Berwick, road and rail upgrades) and limited new-stock supply within established Berwick relative to neighbouring greenfield suburbs like Clyde North and Officer.
